“In August of 2018, a report was filed with the Marysville Police Department which alleged 46-year-old Luis Herrejon, a co-owner and operator of Leonor Family Child Care in the City of Marysville had sexually molested a juvenile whom attended the daycare. Marysville Police Department Detectives conducted an investigation into the allegation. The investigation was conducted by the Marysville Police Department in partnership with the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office, Yuba County Probation Victim Services, the California Department of Justice-Bureau of Forensic Services, and the California Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing Division. During the course of the investigation, additional victims were identified.
Herrejon was arrested on Wednesday April 17th, 2019 on the 2100 block of Huston Street in Marysville for multiple child molestation related felony criminal offenses and he was booked into the Yuba County Jail.
On the morning of Friday, March 13th 2020, Herrejon entered pleas of “No Contest” in reference to violations of two counts of 288(a) of the California Penal Code and one count of 288.7(b) of the California Penal Code in the Yuba County Superior Court. As part of his plea agreement, Herrejon has accepted a sentence of 21 years – Life in the California State Prison. Herrejon’s plea was accepted by the court and his sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Friday, May 1st, 2020.”
