UKIAH – Deep in the night of March 28, around 3:15 a.m., gunshots were heard and reported by a citizen near Tehuacan Road, who then heard a car leaving the area.
Arriving deputies noticed “an old Honda sedan” driving nearby, containing “numerous people.”
The deputies suspected that the car was involved, and followed it to the Little League Baseball Complex on East Gobbi Street.
After stopping they car, they discovered five juveniles and a “loaded short barrel .22 caliber semi automatic rifle with a sawed off stock.”
In addition, the vehicle contained a 20″ steel pipe, as well as “items used to consume nitrous oxide, which individuals inhale for intoxicating effects, along with evidence of marijuana usage.”
Here’s how the MCSO detailed the arrests –
“The 16 year-old male juvenile driver was found to be on formal juvenile probation. He was arrested for possession of a billy club (22210 PC) and violation of probation (1203.2 PC).
The 15 year-old female juvenile who was the front passenger was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle (25400(A)(3) PC) and carrying a loaded firearm (25850(C)(6) PC).
The 14 year-old female juvenile and the 14 year-old male in the back seat were arrested for possession of nitrous oxide (381B) PC.
The 15 year-old male juvenile also in the back seat was arrested for possession of nitrous oxide (381B PC). This juvenile was also found to be missing person/runaway.
All five juveniles were taken to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for a medical clearance prior to being released to the Mendocino County Juvenile Detention Center.”
