CHPD Searching for Leads in Armed Bank Robbery
Officers from the Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD) reportedly responded to the Bank of the West at 7381 Greenback Lane just before 3:30 p.m on Wednesday, June 27, for a call of an armed robbery and are now seeking leads for a suspect, according to a CHPD official press release.
According to the release, a lone male suspect had entered the bank, approached a teller, brandished a firearm and demanded cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading northbound towards Sylvan Road.
The suspect was reportedly described as a white male, approximately 30-35 years old with a medium build, last seen wearing a white T-shirt with green and black writing and a longsleeve white undershirt with black designs on both sleeves. The suspect had a small tattoo on his neck and was wearing a black beret-style hat at the time of the robbery.
The CHPD reports no one was injured during the robbery. Officers reportedly conducted an extensive area check for the suspect, and the suspect was not apprehended during the search. CHPD Detectives are currently investigating the incident and are following up on possible leads.
