The City of Corona Police Department arrested a man after he assaulted someone and then tried to get away with a loaded gun in his car –
“Last night, CPD officers pursued a Chevy Tahoe after the occupants assaulted a citizen in the area of Via Santiago and Meadow Street.
The occupants of the Tahoe, Jairo Espinoza 18-years-old of Corona, one other unidentified male, and two male juveniles, all of Corona, assaulted a male citizen for unknown reasons.
The suspects fled the area before officers arrived. A CPD Officer located the Tahoe on the E/B 91 FWY, and the suspects sped up and refused to stop for the officer.
The pursuit was handed off to CHP, who chased the Tahoe into San Bernardino, where the vehicle crashed.
All of the occupants were detained after the crash. Inside the car was the pictured, loaded .45 caliber Ruger handgun.
CPD Officers arrested the driver for fleeing (pursuit), driving under the influence, and possessing a loaded gun in a vehicle.”
