Felonious Teen, Drinking Beer on School Ground, Flees and Found Armed

SAN DIEGO – Patrol Officers from San Diego Police Department Central Division on patrol at an elementary school observed a teen, Alex (18) drinking a beer. Upon being sighted, Alex
attempted to run.
Officers comprehended the minor – finding a loaded firearm on him. They discovered that “Alex was on probation for Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 3 times,” said San Diego PD. “He was arrested and booked into county jail on the following charges:
2900 (B) (1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
25400 (C) (4) PC – Carry a Concealed Weapon Prohibited
29815 (A) PC Convicted Person Possess a Firearm
30305 (A) (1) PC – Prohibited Person Possess Ammunition
25400 (A) (2) PC – Carry Concealed Weapon on Person
25850 (c) (6) PC – Carry Loaded Handgun: Not Registered to Owner
148 (A) (1) PC – Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer”
When the incident was posted on Facebook on 08/11/2020, comments included many thanks to San Diego PD, along with numerous mentions against de-funding police protection.
One post said, “I hope Alex takes this as a major wake-up call and takes another road in life – a good one.”
San Diego PD replied, “We hope so, too. Life is too short and too valuable.” Alex is still in custody. San Diego PD’s mission statement: “The safety of our community is our number-one priority.”
