CANYON LAKE – A bar-shooting call dispatched an immediate Deputy-response to the 3100 block of Railroad Canyon Road, in Canyon Lake. A fleeing suspect had left the scene prior to Deputies’ arrival on 11/20/2020.

On-scene investigation identified the suspect as Cody Hill (39), from Wildomar. The alleged shooter was located and arrested, without incident.

As a result, the Lake Elsinore Investigations Bureau, and the Problem-Oriented Policing Team coordinated a response to serve a search warrant – to locate the firearm used in this incident. The search produced a slew of firearms.

“At the residence, deputies located five shotguns, four handguns, a California non-compliant rifle, eleven additional rifles and over 2500 live rounds of miscellaneous ammunition,” said Sergeant Julio Olguin.

Paola Jimenez (38), who resided at the residence, was detained during the search warrant service. Hill was put under arrest for attempted murder – and a bail enhancement was approved for $1,000,000.00. The team arrested Jimenez for being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Both Hill and Jimenez were booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center.
