18-month old German Shepherd Storm is now a part of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s department patrol division. Deputy Michael Jericoff also recently received certification.
In order to help fund to bring Storm aboard, a t-short fundraiser was conducted “to lessen the impact to the Sheriff’s Office budget.”
Deputy Jericoff formerly worked as a canine trainer, specializing in police canines.
Deputy and canine recently graduated from the Canine Handler’s Course, ” a strenuous 320 hour course in which the pair are now “specialized in suspect apprehension and detection of guns/ammunition.”
The pair join Corporal Moser and K9 Nox on the patrol division. Moser and Nox specialize in detection of illegal drugs.
“The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the local businesses (Spence Feed, Arnold Pet Clinic, A1 Sharpening, Century 21MM Dena Daluz, Gold Country Auto Body, Senders Market, A.G. Spanos Companies, Top Dog Police K9, Harrah’s Northern California, Realty World Valley Springs, and Oak Savanah) and citizens who supported the fundraising efforts. Their efforts allowed for the canine team’s expansion and will make the citizens of Calaveras County safer.
