“Officers with the Violence Suppression Task Force (VSTF), State Parole, HSI, and CDCR attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for CVC violations in the area of Work St and Work Cir.
The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed and led Officers on a pursuit. VSTF Officers preformed a Pursuit Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver on the vehicle at Fairview Ave and Beverly Dr to end the pursuit.
The driver, Justin Ramirez (31), a Parolee and active norteno gang member, took off running from the vehicle with a semiautomatic firearm in his right hand. Ramirez pointed the firearm at Officers while they were still in their vehicle, lucky the magazine for the firearm had fallen out during the pursuit.
Ramirez then threw the firearm at the vehicle and continued running. He was caught a short distance later where he resisted with Officers and was tased.
In total Officers located the firearm, a 1/4 pound of meth, 3 ounces of heroin, and multiple rounds of ammunition. After a medical check by Natividad Medical Center (NMC) Ramirez was lodged for numerous felony charges.”
