On January 22, 2021, sex crime detectives of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office were tipped to a possible case of a sexual child abuse. Their investigation found evidence 41-year old Brent Cox of Fresno had not only been grooming the 12-year old daughter of a woman he is dating, sexual acts between the child and Cox have occurred during the past several months.
On February 3rd , Cox was arrested on the 700 block of Fulton Street in Fresno for charges related to sexual assault of a minor. He is not eligible for bail and as of the time of this writing remains in custody at the Fresno County Jail.
The case took another step forward when on February 4th a search warrant was served at a home on the 1400 block of East Princeton Avenue in Fresno. At the home, 36-year old Jill Cox, Brent’s wife, was contacted. The married couple has a relationship with a third person, 38-year old Tammy Renia Schreiner, the mother of the child victim, who lives with them and was also contacted on February 4th at the home.
Detectives’ continued investigation found evidence the women were complicit of the acts between Brent and the 12-year old child. The women were arrested for conspiracy of ongoing sexual abuse of a child.
The child’s mother, Schreiner, also faces a misdemeanor charge for intimidation or dissuading a victim. The women’s bail is set at $265,000 each.
The child was removed from the home prior to the arrests and placed in a safe place.
