“Deputies recently responded to Orangevale regarding a package that was stolen off of a resident’s porch. The theft was captured on the resident’s doorbell camera.
After a thorough investigation, our Property Crimes detectives identified Nicholas McCloe (Age 33), as the suspect involved in the theft.
Two days later, North Patrol deputies contacted McCloe during an unrelated call for service. McCloe was taken into custody for the package theft and a number of other outstanding warrants.
Thank you to our community, the North Patrol deputies and the tireless efforts of our Property Crimes Detectives!
The surveillance footage that was provided to us played a vital role in identifying the suspect in this incident. We invite our community to help us fight crime by joining our Sheriff’s Electronic Eye (S.E.E.) Camera Registry Program.
When a crime occurs, the Sheriff’s Office will be able to identify the locations of video surveillance systems and enlist the assistance of citizens to help us collect video evidence.”
