Suspected major suppliers identified in Amador County narcotics investigation

Narcotics enforcement agents have arrested multiple people amid a months-long investigation into narcotics dealing in Amador County, including a Stockton couple recently identified as suspected major suppliers.
Two of the earliest arrests were suspected dealers Barry Stanridge on December 10, 2020, and 34-year-old Joshua Peabody on January 14, 2021. On March 8, 41-year-old Michael Doner became the third.
According to the County Sheriff’s Office, it was around this time that 37-year-old Heather Monfross and her boyfriend 40-year-old Mohammad Azeem were identified as suspected major suppliers of multiple drugs such as heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine to dealers throughout the county.
On March 24, agents served a search warrant at a location associated with the couple in Stockton, ultimately discovering and seizing nearly fifteen pounds of methamphetamine, four pounds of heroin, one pound of cocaine, fentanyl pills, a stolen firearm, and over $30,000 in cash.
The Sheriff’s Office says that the seized drugs would fetch a total estimated street value of about $250,000.
Monfross and Azeem were both arrested and booked on suspicion of numerous felony charges, including possession, transportation, and sales of controlled substances, child endangerment, and carrying a concealed firearm.
