Early on the morning of April 18 officers came to a residence in the 4600 block of East Belgravia.
On scene an 8-year-old boy was unresponsive in a bedroom. Medical personnel who had responded to the scene were not able to revive the boy and pronounced him dead.
Detectives began an investigation of the suspicious death. A forensic exam revealed that the boy’s death was caused by blunt force trauma and ruled it a homicide.
Detectives placed the responsibility on 49-year-old Patrick Johnson, the child’s guardian. His wife, 47-year-old Crystal Johnson, was charged with felony child abuse.
On April 20 the pair were arrested. Patrick Johnson was arrested for murder asnd both were booked intot he Fresno County Jail
