Glenn County Sheriff’s Office opens murder investigation after shooting at marijuana grow site

“On 6/8/21 at approximately 8:00 pm, Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Orland PD Officers, and California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officers responded to the area of County Road 20 and County Road M in Orland for a possible gunshot victim.
Deputies arrived on the scene approximately 3 minutes after the initial call for service was made to 911. Deputies located an adult male on the ground near a residence on County Road M and a large Marijuana grow. Deputies requested medical aid for the gunshot victim as other law enforcement officers secured the scene.
The victim was treated (on scene) by ambulance personnel and members from the Orland Fire Department. Medical personnel was unable to resuscitate the male and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and the deceased subject’s name is being withheld pending identification and notification of next-of-kin. Additional information will follow in supplemental News Releases.
