IRWINDALE – Officers were immediately dispatched when a call came in about “some hooligans” in the process of vandalizing Jardin de Roca Park in the wee hours of the morning.
As Irwindale PD arrived onscene to 5051 N. Irwindale Avenue at approximately 1:45 AM on August 3rd, they encountered four individuals spray-painting a wide swath of the park.
Graffiti was painted all over assorted trees, walls, signs, and benches – to name just a few. The four subjects, consisting of two adults and two children, were rapidly detained.
Preliminary estimated damages to the park appeared to be in excess of $2,000.00. As a result, all four suspects were arrested on felony vandalism charges.
The two adults from Rosemead, Cristian Magana (19) and Isaiah Joseph Meeker (19), were transported for booking at West Covina City Jail. They’re both being held on $20,000 bail, each.
The children were cited with felonies – the juveniles were released to their parents.
Irwindale issued kudos to the alert citizen who reported the activity, with appreciation for help in keeping an eye on the city’s park.
