Fairfield home shot at in middle of day
Fairfield police are investigating a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex on Illinois Street near Madison Street.
According to the Daily Republic, a man fired several shots into an apartment occupied by a Fairfield man and his family at about noon on Tuesday.
The resident, whose name was not released, was at home with his family when he heard several shots being fired. The man gathered his family into a back room, then tried to investigate the incident. According to the Daily Republic, the man at the residence first believed the shots were coming from a nearby construction site, but found bullet holes on the property, one in the home, and one in a barbeque grill.
No one was reported injured during the incident.
The gunman was seen be workers at the construction site near the home. The shooter is described as a black male who wore a hat and a blue shirt. He was reported as driving a compact-sized bluish-grey sedan.
