Fresno PD: Three juvenile gang members arrested in connection to early morning robbery spree
Fresno police have announced the arrests of three juvenile gang members in connection to a recent series of robberies.
The events began in the early morning hours of October 7, police said, when three individuals allegedly robbed the Valero gas station on West Belmont Avenue at gunpoint, taking the monitor to the register and another undisclosed item and fleeing in a black car.
Later that morning, two of the three suspects allegedly robbed a person who’d been sitting in their car with the windows rolled down, taking the victim’s wallet and mobile phone and then fleeing in the same black car.
Not long after that, two of the suspects allegedly robbed a juvenile victim of their mobile phone in the area of Lyell Avenue and Eighth Street.
All three incidents happened before 7:30 AM on the same day, police said.
Officers with the Street Violence Bureau Tactical Team were quick to locate the suspects’ vehicle, attempting a traffic stop in the area of Willow and Kings Canyon Avenues. The suspects instead led officers on a pursuit. Officers were given authorization to utilize the PIT maneuver, which they did successfully. Officers quickly surrounded and apprehended the three suspects, all of whom are reportedly juveniles. All three were booked at the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center.
Police also served two search warrants on two residences and a vehicle, reportedly finding a rifle, two handguns, clothing, and masks used in the alleged robberies, as well as multiple mobile phones and property taken from one of the victims.
