Police: Marysville man arrested, accused of ongoing domestic abuse
A Marysville man has been arrested in connection to the alleged ongoing abuse of his girlfriend, according to police.
Officers responded on the morning of October 25th to a report of a woman being held at gunpoint on the 1200 block of I Street. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Joshua Charles Dalton, had allegedly awakened the victim by pointing a gun at her and yelling that he would kill her, police said.
The victim eventually talked Dalton into putting the gun down, but he would reportedly not let her leave the house and ultimately had to physically pulled away from her by the victim’s family member, according to police.
Investigating officers determined that Dalton had been regularly abusing the woman for months, evidenced by visible injuries from where he’d struck her previously, and that she’d never reported it out of fear of retaliation.
Dalton was taken into custody on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment, assault with a firearm, and criminal threats. He was booked on $150,000 bail.
