A Fresno man with multiple outstanding warrants was arrested after allegedly committing “lewd acts toward” one person and sexually assaulting another on the same day, police said.
39-year-old Joseph Keluche is accused of first attempting to force entry into the Chevron at Chestnut and Butler in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 30. When unable to do so, Keluche allegedly committed “lewd acts” toward the employee, who called police. Keluche fled as officers arrived, police said.
Keluche is accused of then sexually assaulting a woman in her apartment in the area of Maple and California Avenue, but she managed to scare him off by screaming loudly. Police did not specify how Keluche gained entry to the apartment, but highlighted in a press release the importance of making sure doors and windows are locked.
A few days later on Tuesday, November 2, police spotted Keluche, noting that he resembled the suspect described in the October 30 incidents. Keluche was found to have multiple warrants to his name for three previous incidents of alleged indecent exposure, to which police say he eventually confessed.
Keluche was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of felony sexual assault, felony assault with the intent to commit rape, and burglary.
