“Thursday evening, deputies responded to a call of two elderly men who were physically attacked at a residence on Green Acres Road in Sonora. When deputies arrived, they contacted the two elderly victims who sustained serious injury as the result of an attack. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Through investigation, it was determined a third person who lived on the property, 32-year-old Anthony Quintero, was the suspected assailant and had fled the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival. Sheriff’s Detectives were called to take over the investigation. A Be-on-the-Lookout (BOL) was broadcasted to allied agencies for Quintero.
Several hours later, Sonora CHP located Quintero walking along the roadway on Highway 108 near Dardanelles. Quintero was taken into custody and booked for attempted murder, burglary, elder abuse resulting in great bodily injury and resisting arrest.
No further information is available at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.”
