Fresno police arrest five in connection to alleged robbery, shooting spree

Fresno police have announced the arrests of five suspects — four adults and one juvenile — in connection to a recent series of robberies and shootings.
The four adult suspects have been identified as Marcos Zuniga (18), Infinity Vasquez (19), Isabel Athey (19), and Ricardo Nunez (19). The fifth suspect has been identified only as a male juvenile, according to police.
The five suspects are accused in three separate incidents of armed robbery, one of which reportedly resulted in a store clerk being shot, in the early morning hours of October 22.
The first incident, shortly after 12 AM, occurred at Uncle Toms Liquor on East Tulare in what police refer to as a “beer run.” An individual described as a Hispanic male entered the store, but was ultimately chased back out by the clerk, whom the suspect allegedly fired several shots at before fleeing in a vehicle.
The second incident occurred around 2 AM on East Lowe Avenue, where several shots were reportedly fired at a residence. Witnesses later described seeing a light-colored Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon leaving the area shortly after hearing the shots, police said.
The third incident happened just before 3:30 AM at the WinCo on South Peach. Officers responded to a report that an employee had been struck by gunfire after following two suspect shoplifters out to the parking lot. The employee heard gunshots and realized she had been struck, police said.
The five suspects were ultimately identified, located, and arrested.
