“Just after 6 am this morning, we received a call of a subject jumping into a backyard on Delaport Way in the Coronado Cays.
Officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter looking for the man. At this point, a SDPD K9 unit was also requested to assist.
We received a second call from a home on Tuna Puna where a 16-year-old resident found the subject in her home stealing a cell phone.
The teen screamed and the man ran out of the home. A few minutes later, another resident on Tuna Puna watched his home security camera footage with one of the K9 officers and they determined that the subject was inside that resident’s garage.
Officers located the man up in the attic of the garage and after briefly negotiating, the 29-year-old man was taken into custody without further incident. Stolen property from several homes was found on the subject at the time of his arrest, and behind a block wall where his was hiding earlier in the morning.”
