REDLANDS – Police have only a few clues that could lead them to solve a robbery reported early Wednesday at the Good Nite Inn.
Two men pushed their way into a hotel room, taking several items including a laptop, then fled in a 1998 PT Cruiser, according to the police report.
The strong-arm robbery took place at 10 p.m. on Tuesday when the 40-year-old victim was sitting his room.
“He got a knock on the door and when he opened it,” said Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker, “two males forced their way in.”
One of the suspects, said Baker, was described as a 6-foot-2, 250 to 260-pound black man. At the time, he was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and was close-shaved. “They were unarmed,” said Baker.
The Good Nite Inn is located on Industrial Park Ave., near the Alabama St. off-ramp, which is next to the Interstate 10 freeway.
“We’ve had crimes happen there,” said Baker, “but I haven’t heard if we’ve had that type of crime before.”
