Suspect Attempts to Carjack Several People

“On Friday, March 18th, at 9:18 A.M., Redding Police Officers responded to numerous calls regarding a subject with a gun in the area of 900 Hartnell Avenue. This subject was reportedly attempting to steal several cars at gunpoint as well as pointing his gun at people in the area.
Officers responded and quickly located the subject, later identified as Kaleb Kissinger of Redding, walking northbound on Blue View Street. He was completely uncooperative initially, and ignored all of the officer’s commands while continuing to walk north on Blue View Street. The firearm was no longer in his hands.
Eventually Kissinger stopped walking away and after a short standoff with police, officers were able to de-escalate the situation and take Kissinger into custody.
The below depicted air pistol was found in Kissinger’s backpack. Kissinger was arrested and booked at the Shasta County Jail for multiple counts of attempted carjacking, brandishing a replica firearm and obstructing or resisting arrest.
