Sometimes the wheels of justice turn slowly…but they do continue to turn. In the case of an unsolved stabbing that took place on the 100 block of North N Street in the City of Lompoc on July 6, 2020, the ceaseless efforts of collaborating law enforcement agencies brought the hunt for 26-year-old Ruben Prado to an end.
According to Lompoc Police Department spokesman Sgt. Sergio Arias, when officers rolled up to the scene of bloody violence nearly two years ago, they “found two stabbing victims” who were taken to local area hospitals for immediate treatment of “life-threatening injuries.” Those victims eventually recovered from their wounds, but the man responsible for inflicting them
proved difficult to locate.
Working in concert with the U.S. Marshall’s Service and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, detectives ultimately tracked Prado down to a residence in Santa Maria. On April 11 th , deputies swarmed the suspect location and made contact with Prado. He was taken into custody “without further incident” and was transported to Lompoc Police Department Jail where he was booked on eight felony charges, “including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and burglary.” He remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
