“A Placer County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a business on Auburn Folsom Road at 4:30 a.m. on April 17th for a report of an assault.
When the deputy arrived at the location, he observed a female holding a bloody towel after her index finger was slashed by a boxcutter.
During the investigation, the deputy learned the woman was walking into work when she was approached by a male who claimed to be an employee at the business.
The woman did not recognize him and told him to wait outside. The male suspect followed the woman in and put her in a chokehold while holding a boxcutter knife to her throat.
The woman immediately pushed the knife away, slashing her finger in the process. The male ran away from the scene before deputies arrived but was located on Douglas Boulevard a few hours later.
The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Richard Nave, became uncooperative with deputies and did not comply with their commands. Nave was eventually brought into compliance and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.”
