“On June 14th, 2022 at 7:00 AM, Deputies with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Eradication Team and Agents with the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at a residence on the 7000 block of Ally Gold Way in Shingletown, CA. The search warrant was served regarding an illegal marijuana cultivation site.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted Rudy Sablan Wusstig, age 69 of Shingletown, and confirmed he was the property owner. Wusstig was previously convicted of two felony sex offenses: 288(c)(1) PC: Lewd acts with a child and 285 PC: Incest.
During the warrant service, two greenhouse-style structures were located on the property with a total of 204 actively growing marijuana plants inside of them. Approximately 296 pounds of processed marijuana, some already packaged in a manner consistent for sales, was also located.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined Wusstig was in violation of the following misdemeanor charges: 11358(c) H&S: Cultivation of more than 6 marijuana plants and Shasta County Ordinance 17.88.320 which bans outdoor cultivation of marijuana. Due to Wusstig’s prior sex offense conviction and registered sex offender status, he was also determined to be in violation of 11359(c)(1) H&S: Possession of marijuana for sales with a prior sex offense conviction, a felony.
Wusstig was placed under arrest and transported to the Shasta County Jail where he was booked for the above mentioned charges. Wusstig’s bail was set at $100,000.00 and he is currently still in custody.”
