Three suspects were recently arrested after allegedly shoplifting a store in Napa and leading police on a pursuit all the way to San Francisco.
On the evening of July 13, three individuals — two adult males and one juvenile — reportedly entered the Sunglass Hut store in Napa with trash bags and fled with over 215 pairs of sunglasses. An employee at the neighboring store took down their plate number and the information was relayed to surrounding police agencies, police said.
American Canyon police officers reportedly caught up with the suspect vehicle along Highway 29 and pursued the suspects with assistance from Napa County Sheriff’s deputies and CHP officers.
The pursuit went all the way to and ended in San Francisco, where the three suspects were at last apprehended near 6th Street and Highway 80. All of the stolen sunglasses were recovered.
The suspects were arrested and booked — the two adults at the Napa County Department of Corrections and the juvenile at Napa County Juvenile Hall. The stolen glasses ranged in price from $200 to $530 each, police said.
