Two Victorville men were arrested on drug charges after an Apple Valley deputy led on a three-mile pursuit.
The driver, Brady Alan Flanagan (26) was charged with felony evading and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as violating his Post Release Community Supervision. The passenger, Robert David Diaz (29) was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
A vehicle code violation prompted Apple Valley Deputy Watson to attempt a traffic stop on the motorcycle being driven by Flanagan shortly after 8 AM on October 7th. They were located near Kiowa Road and Bear Valley Road.
Flanagan ignored the command and continued driving, the deputy in tow. “During the 3-mile pursuit, Flanagan reached speeds of over 65 miles per hour, drove into opposing lanes, and failed to stop at a red light and a stop sign,” said Deputy Watson. “The motorcycle experienced mechanical issues near Deep Creek Road and Bear Valley Road, where Flanagan fled into a nearby field.”
Both men were apprehended a short time later and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on the above charges. Flanagan’s bail was set at $100,000. Diaz was cited and released.
