San Francisco police have announced the arrests of four juveniles in connection to an alleged armed carjacking on Halloween, with one of the suspects reportedly facing a total of twenty-three charges.

Shortly before 3:30 PM, Southern Station officers responded to Treasure Island on a report of a carjacking. The victim told officers that four armed suspects standing around a black sedan approached him as he got into his own car, brandished multiple firearms, and left with his vehicle.

Shortly after a description of the victim’s vehicle — a silver sedan — went out, Bayview Station officers reportedly spotted the vehicle and attempted a high-risk traffic stop in the area of Cesar Chavez and Connecticut Streets.

The driver did not yield and continued onto Pennsyvania Street, initiating a pursuit and committing several vehicle code violations in the process. The pursuit was briefly terminated when the driver began driving against traffic, police said.

The pursuit reportedly resumed in the area of Howard and 6th Streets and continued until the suspect vehicle reportedly collided with a parked car on the 900 block of Connecticut Streets. All four occupants then tried to flee on foot, but were quickly apprehended.

The four occupants all turned out to be juveniles — two age 15, and the other two 16.

Officers searched the stolen vehicle and reportedly discovered a loaded firearm and a pellet air gun, as well as a third loaded firearm near the vehicle.

Officers also learned that the black sedan the victim had seen the suspects standing by had been stolen during an armed carjacking the previous night, on October 30, in the area of 25th Street and South Van Ness Avenue.

SFPD’s Robbert Detail responded to the scene and arrested all four suspects.

One of the 16-year-olds in particular reportedly faces a litany of charges, ranging from firearm-related to carjacking to obstruction to stolen property to hit-and-run to driving without a license and more, amounting to a total of twenty-three charges.

The other three were booked on similar charges, including carjacking, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, and obstruction.
