BENSALEM, Pa. — A Pennsylvania teen has been charged with homicide after allegedly killing a girl and asking for help disposing of the body.
In a media release, Bensalem Police Department identified 16-year-old Joshua Cooper as the suspect and reported that he is being charged as an adult.
Police say that on the afternoon of Friday, November 25, a woman called 9-1-1 to report that her teenage daughter had received a video call from Cooper over Instagram, in which Cooper allegedly claimed to have just killed someone.
The video then flipped around to show the legs and feet of a person covered in blood, and Cooper asked for help disposing of the body, police said.
Police learned that Cooper lived at the Top of the Ridge trailer park on Gibson Road and responded to the property. As they arrived on scene, Cooper ran out the back of the trailer, but was later located and taken into custody in the area of Newport Mews and Groton Drives.
Inside the trailer, officers reportedly found a deceased juvenile female on the bathroom floor. She appeared to have been shot, and substantial efforts had been made to clean up the crime scene, police said.
Cooper remains in custody without bail at the Edison Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with criminal homicide, possessing instruments of crime, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
