Cache of Drugs, Guns Found in Home

Placer County – The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail served a warrant on a home in western Placer County on September 6th and came out with a large cache of guns and drugs. The Placer County Sheriff’s Department was also involved in the operation that developed from information gathered by the SCSD IMPACT division indicating that firearms may have been sold from the residence.

The operation netted over 100 guns and over 500 marijuana plants whose street value is estimated to be $2.5 million dollars.

Steven Goodell, 46, was arrested for charges “including the unlawful use of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana for sale, unlawful cultivation of marijuana, criminal conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and child endangerment,” the SCSD announced. Cameron Sorenson, 29, was also arrested with charges including criminal conspiracy, possession of marijuana for sale, and unlawful cultivation of marijuana.

Both men were booked into the Placer County Jail. The sheriff’s spokesman, Deputy Jason Ramos, said, “Goodell is believed to be associated with a criminal group that subscribes to a “white-power” ideology. Detectives believe that the firearms were maintained for the purpose of selling them with drugs to other members of this particular criminal group.”
