NEEDLES — On the 16th of December at around 7:15 AM, a Needles CHP officer had conducted a traffic stop, according to a department media release.
The officer was pulling the car over for going 96MPH in a 70MPH zone.
The officer reportedly pulled the car over for going 96 mph in a 70 mph zone, and discovered that the driver was a juvenile female who did not have a valid license. A second person was in the passenger seat.
While speaking with the male passenger, the officer reportedly observed “signs of criminal activity,” and searched the vehicle, reportedly discovering a loaded Mac-11 and a sawed-off .12 gauge shotgun.
The officer also located 442 fentanyl pills, about an ounce of cocaine, and small amounts of Xanax and meth.
The passenger, identified as 26-year-old Julio Beltran-Berrelleza, 26, was arrested on weapon and drug charges.
The juvenile was taken into the custody of San Bernardino County Child Protective Services.
