Mountain View police have arrested a man on suspicion of peeping in a women’s restroom, and believe there may be more victims.
Police announced in a department media press release that 35-year-old Eduardo Moreno was arrested on the morning of Monday, January 2, after an alleged incident at the Panera restaurant on El Monte Avenue.
A woman called police at around 11:40 AM to report that she’d been sitting in one of the bathroom stalls when a man, who’d been in the stall next to her, allegedly peaked at her from underneath the stall wall.
The man reportedly fled after the woman screamed at him, but she chased him outside. When she tried to take a picture of him, the man allegedly grabbed her phone and pushed her to the ground, then fled toward Marich Way.
He was then seen taking his shirt off and jumping a fence, and ultimately returned to the restaurant. It was there that he was tackled by a group of bystanders and held until officers arrived, police said.
The man, later identified as Moreno, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and peeping and booked at the Santa Clara County jail. Moreno is reportedly the CEO of a Palo Alto-based tech company by the name of SeaDrone Inc.
Detectives are concerned that Moreno may have other victims, and anyone with information on Moreno or any other possible victims is encouraged to contact Detective Josh Gould at josh.gould@mountainview.gov.
