Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested
Grover Beach police arrested a man after he allegedly tried to strangle another man during a burglary.
According to GBPD, they took a crime report last Friday morning involving a burglary where the suspect attempted to murder the victim.
The incident, according to GBPD, took place on the 100 block of Carmelde Lane. Investigators say the suspect was identified as Thomas Allen Kirker of Grover Beach.
Police say Kirker came into the residence where the victim was staying. The victim is a disabled male subject who is an acquaintance of Kirker. Police say Kirker, after entering the home, immediately attacked the victim and demanded the victim’s money and medication. When the victim refused, Kirker strangled the victim until the victim went unconscious, while telling the victim he would kill him.
Another person living at the residence attempted to pull Kirker off the victim, but could not. The resident then reasoned with Kirker and got him to leave the home.
According to GBPD, Kirker was later located at a residence in the 1400 block of Longbranch Avenue.
After Kirker was located, officers of the Grover Beach Police Department with the assistance of San Luis Obispo Police detectives served a Ramey Arrest Warrant. Kirker was placed under arrest for attempted murder, attempted robbery and burglary.
Kirker was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
