Vallejo police search for suspects in bizarre robbery attempt
Vallejo police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred early Thursday morning on Springs Road where a van used in the robbery got stuck at the scene of the crime.
According to the Vallejo Times Herald, police received information that a van backed into a convenience store window to break into the store and steal an ATM machine at 4 a.m. While backing up, however, the van ran over the machine and was unable to be moved any further because the machine was stuck underneath the van. The suspects subsequently abandoned the van, police said.
According to the Vallejo Times Herald, police determined that the van, a white 2002 Ford model, was stolen from San Leandro. Though no witnesses immediately came forward with knowledge of the attempted robbery, police were able to determine that at least two suspects were involved.
No other information about the incident was made available as of Thursday.
