Two Arrested in Connection to Fatal Shooting on Madison Avenue

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrests of two people in connection to a fatal shooting in October of last year.

On the night of Tuesday, October 11, deputies responded to the 3800 block of Madison Avenue to investigate reports of gunfire and discovered an adult male lying in the road. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his torso and was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives identified the victim as 24-year-old Hector Velazquez.

Earlier this week, detectives identified the primary suspects in the shooting as 20-year-old Armando Baltazar and 18-year-old Guillermo Gonzalez.

Both suspects were arrested on Tuesday, January 3, and booked on suspicion of murder.
