A man with an active felony warrant was recently arrested in Wasco, according to a press release by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded on the afternoon of Monday, January 16, to the 600 block of D Street regarding a report of suspicious activity and happened upon 42-year-old Jose Guitron, who was reportedly on Post Release Community Supervision and wanted on a felony warrant.

The deputy placed Guitron under arrest, at which time he discovered a loaded ghost gun, a high-capacity magazine, additional ammo, and suspected methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Guitron was later booked at the Kern County jail on suspicion of possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and other additional charges, the Sheriff’s Office said.
