Riverside, CA- On Sunday morning, a sexual assault occurred at the McDonald’s located on Magnolia Avenue at Hole Avenue in California. The incident was reported to the dispatch center, which immediately dispatched officers to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the suspect, Terrell Dante Adams, being restrained by a citizen and were able to take him into custody.
According to the police report, Adams, a 40-year-old homeless registered sex offender, entered the female restroom inside McDonald’s and confronted a woman who was coming out of a stall. He blocked her from leaving the bathroom and proceeded to sexually assault her. However, the victim began resisting and making enough noise to alert someone nearby. This caused Adams to release the victim and run out of the restroom. A citizen sitting inside the restaurant heard the commotion and saw the victim coming out, followed by the suspect. This citizen then chased Adams and held him down in the parking lot until the police arrived.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Adams is currently on state parole for kidnapping with intent to commit rape, having been released this past December. He is a registered sex offender and wears a GPS monitoring device. Adams was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance due to some injuries he sustained while being detained, before being booked into jail for assault with the intent to commit a felony, sexual battery, false imprisonment, violation of sex registry, and violation of parole. He is being held without bail.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing their outrage and concern for the victim. Local authorities have reiterated the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
“It’s important for the public to be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions to stay safe, particularly when using public restrooms or other potentially vulnerable spaces,” said a spokesperson for the police department. “It’s encouraging to see members of the community coming together to assist in preventing further harm in situations like these.”
