The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office has issued a press release regarding a successful narcotics investigation conducted by their Special Operations Unit earlier this month.
On April 5, the SOU was conducting surveillance at the Budget Inn Motel on the 1000 block of Olive Street in San Luis Obispo when they reportedly observed four individuals arrive in a vehicle and enter a motel room. Detectives recognized two of the individuals as being on probation and having active probation violation warrants.
Detectives contacted the subjects and conducted a search of the motel room and vehicle. They seized approximately 1.3 pounds (589 grams) of methamphetamine, 3.4 ounces (96 grams) of fentanyl, and a loaded Glock-style ghost handgun.
By the gram, the street value of the substances would be approximately $15,000, police said.
The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals: Emma Leal for the alleged possession for sale of a controlled substance, Serena Bishop for the alleged possession for sale of a controlled substance, committing a felony while out on bail, and a Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) violation warrant, Austin Ross for the alleged possession for sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and a felon in possession of a firearm, and Jennifer Wilder for the alleged possession for sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, felon in possession of a firearm, and a probation violation warrant.
All four individuals were booked into the county jail. The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office is committed to addressing the issues of drug trafficking and drug abuse in the county, and have urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the Sheriff’s Office, assuring that all such reports will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
