SLO Man Arrested for Attempted Murder
A San Luis Obispo man was arrested by police on Sunday after he allegedly tried to kill one of his neighbors.
According to SLOPD, officers responded to a disturbance in an apartment complex located at 3350 Bullock Lane shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Officers say upon arrival, they contacted Edmund Nungaray, 59, of SLO near the open door of the victim’s apartment.
According to investigators when officers checked the apartment, they found the victim was not breathing and had no pulse. She is a 46-year-old female resident of San Luis Obispo.
Police say Nungaray was immediately detained and officers began CPR on the victim and called for paramedics.
According to SLOPD, the victim’s pulse was re-established because of the immediate life-saving measures initiated by the police officers and responding paramedics.
Police say the victim was transported to French Hospital and was placed in the intensive-care unit. She was listed in critical condition.
According to investigators, Nungaray and the victim are not involved in a romantic relationship but are acquaintances.
Police say both live separate apartments in the complex.
Nungaray was arrested for attempted murder and booked into SLO County Jail with bail being set at $500,000.
