Juveniles Arrested in Connection to Alleged Shooting Incident in Healdsburg

A pair of juveniles have reportedly been arrested in connection to an alleged shooting incident in Healdsburg.
According to a press release by Healdsburg PD, police responded to a call of suspicious individuals wearing hoodies and covering their faces with bandanas on Tuesday, April 19th, at around 3:40 PM. The incident occurred on the 400 block of Grove Street, and it was similar to an incident that occurred the day before at a nearby apartment complex at the same time, which involved individuals with a similar description.
During Monday’s incident, the officers responded to a call of gunshots and discovered that at least two shots were fired from a handgun at an individual. No one was injured during the incident, but officers found evidence of the crime at the scene.
On Tuesday, when the officers arrived in the area, they found two individuals and attempted to contact them. However, the two individuals immediately ran from the officers, jumping over fences and running through yards in an attempt to evade them. After a foot chase, officers caught both individuals on the 700 block of Healdsburg Ave.
During a search of one of the individual’s backpack, officers reportedly found a loaded firearm. The suspects, 15 and 16-year-old juveniles from Healdsburg, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a loaded firearm in public, possession of a concealed firearm in public stolen, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest. The 16-year-old was additionally charged with violation of the terms of his juvenile probation based on a prior firearms-related charge. Both juveniles were booked at Juvenile Hall.
Authorities are investigating whether the incidents from Monday and Tuesday are related. The suspects’ identities have not been revealed due to their status as minors.
Healdsburg Police Department is urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and assist with the investigation. They also remind residents to report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
