Suspect Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder in Culver City

Police in Culver City have arrested a man in connection to an attempted robbery and murder on Sunday evening.
According to a press release by Culver City PD Culver City Police Officers responded just after 6 PM on Sunday, May 14, to a distress call made by Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies near the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Buckingham Parkway. The call reported an altercation involving a male suspect who had been detained by the deputies.
According to the victim’s account, he was walking along Buckingham Parkway when an individual wearing a ski mask and gloves approached him. The suspect, described as an adult male, forcefully removed the victim’s backpack from behind. When the victim resisted the alleged robbery attempt, he was stabbed multiple times with a large butcher knife, resulting in several lacerations to his back and arm.
After receiving the radio call, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene and promptly located and detained the suspect. The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.
Following the incident, Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel provided immediate medical assistance to the victim. He was transported to a local hospital where he received further treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released any additional updates regarding the victim’s condition.
The suspect was transported to the Culver City Police Department where he was booked in connection with the alleged robbery and stabbing. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.
