Culver City PD Seeks Public’s Help Amid Shooting Investigation

“Report Number: 23-2555
On May 14, 2023, at 07:40 pm, Culver City Police Department Officers were flagged down while patrolling the area of Culver Blvd and Watseka Ave. The victim stated that someone fired a handgun at them and fled the area.
The Officers conducted their investigation and learned that male and female victims were eating on the patio of a local restaurant when the suspect took the female victim’s purse from the table and fled on foot. The male victim chased and caught the suspect, at which time a fight ensued. The getaway vehicle was parked nearby (occupied by two additional suspects) and upon seeing the male victim and suspect fighting, the front passenger produced a handgun and fired one round. The suspect then entered the vehicle and the driver fled the area without the purse.
