“On March 20th, 2023, Citrus Heights Police Department responded to the report of an adult male found deceased inside an apartment building within the 7800 block of Sayonara Drive in Citrus Heights. Officers arrived and located an adult male deceased from a gunshot wound to his head.

Citrus Heights Detectives subsequently began a homicide investigation to include interviewing witnesses and collecting and analyzing multiple pieces of evidence. A 30-year-old suspect from Carmichael was identified and a homicide warrant was issued by Sacramento County for his arrest.

On July 11th, 2023, Citrus Heights Detectives located Joshua Zell Brisbane in Roseville and arrested him for murder. Citrus Heights Detectives were assisted by the Roseville Police Department SWAT team and Sacramento County Probation officers. Brisbane was safely taken into custody without incident and booked into the Sacramento County jail on homicide charges.

The Citrus Heights Police Department would like to thank the Roseville Police Department and the Sacramento County Probation Department for their assistance with the arrest. Additionally, Citrus Heights would like to thank the community for their support and assistance during this investigation.
