“San Mateo, CA – On Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 1 pm, San Mateo Police Department Officers were contacted by a father and his daughter at the Police Department. Officers learned the father was a victim of an assault with a deadly weapon. During the investigation officers learned the daughter called her father because she was being followed by a black colored car. While on the phone with her, the father drove to her location and saw the vehicle was still following. As everyone was stopped at a red light at East Hillsdale Blvd and Curtiss St, the father got out of his car and confronted the driver of the black vehicle. The driver brandished a knife and threatened the father. The suspect then got into his vehicle and drove at the father, who was struck by the car and the impact caused him to roll onto the hood.

German was later located inside of his car, parked near the intersection of Lodi Ave and Norton St where he was arrested without incident. The knife used during the crime was recovered. German was later booked into San Mateo County Jail.
