Orange County Superior Court Judge Arrested for Alleged Murder of His Wife

An Orange County superior court judge has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of his wife.
According to a press release by the Anaheim Police Department, homicide detectives have arrested 72-year-old Jeffrey Ferguson on the evening of Thursday, August 3, for the alleged murder of his wife.
The Anaheim Police Communications Center received multiple reports of a shooting at a residence on the 8500 block of East Canyon Vista Drive shortly after 8 o’clock that night. At the scene, responding officers found 65-year-old Sheryl Ferguson inside the residence with at least one gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jeffrey Ferguson was at the location when officers arrived and was taken into custody without any resistance. He was booked at the Anaheim Police Department detention facility on $1 million bail. Ferguson is reportedly an Orange County Superior Court judge.
The Anaheim Police Department continues to investigate the crime, and have elected not to release additional details at this time. It was unclear at press time whether Ferguson had retained an attorney.
All suspects arrested on suspicion of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
