Investigation Underway Following Disturbing Incident at Local Laundromat

Watsonville, CA – In a deeply unsettling incident that has left the community on edge, local law enforcement is currently investigating a case involving a 27-year-old man who allegedly exposed himself to multiple women at a laundromat.
The incident, which took place on July 15, has led to the arrest of the suspect, Joel Navarro of Watsonville, and has prompted authorities to seek potential victims who may have been targeted by Navarro prior to this incident.
The unsettling episode unfolded at a laundromat located on the 1200 block of Main Street.
The proprietor of the establishment alerted law enforcement to the incident on July 15, which triggered an immediate response from officers on patrol. Swift action by the officers led to the identification of the suspect as Joel Navarro.
Since the initial report, officers have been working tirelessly to identify and locate potential victims who may have been inappropriately approached by Navarro.
Authorities are appealing to individuals who were present at the laundromat on July 15 around 5:30 PM or anyone who had encountered Navarro prior to this incident to come forward with any information they may have. During the disturbing incident, Navarro was reportedly wearing a gray hooded sweater, black sweatpants, and red shoes.
Navarro was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on several charges:

- PC 664/PC220(a)(1): Attempted assault with intent to commit mayhem, rape, sodomy, oral copulation
- PC243.4 (a): Sexual Battery
- PC 664/PC243.4(a): Attempted Sexual Battery
- PC314.1: Indecent Exposure
