Women Tied up and Robbed in Fresno Home

FRESNO – A neighborhood is reeling after two masked men robbed a home in their block in northwest Fresno in broad daylight on Tuesday.

The two men armed with guns broke into a home in the 2000 block of West Sierra Avenue near West Avenue around 9:45 a.m. The two women inside – the homeowner and the housekeeper – were tied up at their wrists with flex cuffs while the men searched through the home room-to-room for around 30 minutes looking for anything valuable.

The suspects “started ransacking the residence looking for property and cash,” said Lt. Burke Farrah with the Fresno Police Department.

The suspects weren’t able to find any money, but they did steal expensive tools used for the victim’s husband’s construction business.

After the men took off, one of the women was able to free herself and run to a neighbor’s house for help. The neighbor called 911. The housekeeper suffered from minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police say they will let the shock wear off for the women and then go through the incident in detail to try to get as much information as possible to help lead them to the suspects. Meanwhile, crime scene investigators went through the house looking for finger prints and other clues as to the suspects’ identities.
