Kern County: Three Arrested in Connection with Wasco Shooting Investigation

“On September 29, 2023, deputies from the Wasco Substation and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division responded to residences in the 2800-block of Broadway Street and 2600-block of Spruce Ave in Wasco for the service of multiple search warrants related to an ongoing criminal investigation involving Adrian Oliva (20), who was the suspect in a shooting that left two victims injured.
Oliva was located and arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for charges of Penal Code 664/187 – Attempted Homicide and Penal Code 182 – Conspiracy. Angel Villa (21) was arrested for Penal Code 25850 – Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Elija Gonzalez (32) was arrested for numerous weapons and narcotics violations.
As a result of the search warrants at both residences, deputies located and seized five (5) firearms, ammunition, high-capacity magazines and approximately five (5) ounces of suspected cocaine.
Oliva, Villa, and Gonzalez were booked at the Central Receiving Facility.
