A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a man who was found dead under the Gerber Road bridge earlier this month.
According to a press release, deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service regarding an unresponsive individual under the Gerber Road bridge late on the afternoon of October 8. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Joshua Rash, was found not breathing and declared deceased at the scene by medical personnel from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department.
Deputies reportedly discovered an apparent gunshot wound on Rash’s chest.
Following the initial response, homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators conducted interviews with witnesses and collected evidence. Their investigation led to the identification of 60-year-old Richard Bradford as the primary suspect in Rash’s death. Authorities then obtained an arrest warrant for Bradford.
On October 10th, Major Crimes Detectives successfully located and apprehended Bradford. He has since been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of murder. Bradford is currently ineligible for bail and made his first court appearance on October 12.
